Group Classes

COMING SOON!

Now taking enrollments for new Beginners Basics class starting January 2024! Start the year with training! Email to get signed up. We offer Beginners Basics, Intermediate, and Advance obedience classes, Continuing Education, as well as Canine Good Citizen prep classes and testing.

Here at Candid Canines we offer a variety of classes and unique options for our clients. We ask all clients to start with our 8 Week Beginners Basics coarse but from there you get to pick which direction you go.

Beginners Basics

All clients must take a beginners basics class with Candid Canines before moving onto any other group classes. Even if a dog and client have taken classes at other training facilities, Candid Canines requires the owner dog teams refresh with trainer Claire. This is in order to ensure all participants have the foundation skills and learning theory mastery to be successful in more advanced classes. All participants must take one or more private lessons with trainer Claire before classes start.

To take Canine Good Citizen prep and exam classes, AKC trick dog, or other high AKC exams dogs must have gone through either Beginners Basics, Intermediate and Advanced Classes, or Beginners Basics, Continuing Ed. 2, and Continuing Ed. 3.

We HIGHLY recommend clients and dogs go through Continuing Ed. 4 before testing for Canine Good Citizen.

For Parkour, Tricks and Nose Work clients only need to have attended beginners basics, or have special permission and assessment by Trainer Claire to attend.

Group Classes are not suitable for dog aggressive dogs, human reactive or aggressive dogs, or for fearful dogs who do not do well in new settings and find being out and about too stressful to be humane.

AKC Prep Classes & Testing:

Beginners Basics class is the foundation for all other classes, to learn the basics and get a solid base to continue on or even just work on a few skills and call it a day. This class runs for 8 weeks, with weekday morning or evening classes available. All class participants must take a minimum of one private lesson with Candid Canines before qualifying for group classes.

$185

Both Intermediate and Advance Classes are for a specific period of time and then come to an end. Your dog must complete the 'skills checklist' to go from Intermediate to Advance or repeat Intermediate until able to complete the list. Each coarse runs for 10 Weeks with weekday morning and evening classes.

Continuing Education Classes are our most popular programs, where owners sign up not for specific classes but on going access to the learning environment. Clients in the continuing  education curriculum learn and practice  at their own pace, and move onto the next level without the pressure of a timeline or class end date looming over them. Continuing Education is great option for dog owners who prefer to learn in a relaxed setting, have a safe and fun social environment to take their dogs, or simply enjoy continuously working on new skills and tricks with their pooch.

1 Month (4 classes): $100

3 Months (12 classes): $220

4 Months (16 classes): $278

6 Months (24 classes): $390

These classes are specifically and exclusively geared towards helping dogs and their owners prepare and test for the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Award and other associated certifications offered by the AKC CGC program. These classes run for 10 weeks but clients who do not feel ready to test are encouraged to stay in prep classes until ready.

Trick, Parkour and confidence building classes:

Candid Canines occasionally offers tricks, Parkour and other classes that help build confidence in your pup. These are dependent on client request and can last anywhere from 5 to 10 classes. Prices depend on length of time and if we are bringing in other certified trainers (like Parkour).
